Our TECSEAL product line encompasses heat seal dispersions for primary application on aluminum foil, plastic film and paper. The TECSEAL range further includes our wet lamination adhesives.
These products are based mainly on the following raw materials:
ethylene copolymer (EAA and EMAA)
ethylene terpolymer (EVA)
SBR latex
acrylates
Every application requires a specific design for the sealed seam. Our TECSEAL product line therefore displays the following characteristics:
peelable or permanent seal
seals to itself, polyethylene, polypropylene, polyester, polystyrene, PVC, glass, paper/board
resistant to water, fat and oil
wide sealing window
sealing starts at low temperatures (< 80°C)

Every application requires a specific design for the sealed seam. Our TECSEAL product line therefore displays the following characteristics:
The principle of heat sealing is not to simply bond or weld together packaging materials, as is often falsely assumed. More correctly, it refers to the process of coating a substrate material (e.g. films, composite films, paper, board, metal foil, textiles, etc.) with a heat seal dispersion and permanently joining it to a second target material by means of temperature activation at the moment of adhesion.
The heat seal dispersion plays a critical role in joining the materials. By means of chemical modification and pre-treatment, it takes on specific adhesive properties as determined by the materials to be joined. For example, seals can be made “dispersion-on-dispersion,” or by joining one side coated with dispersion directly to another substrate material.
Following temperature activation for only a few seconds in most cases, and exposure to pressures of up to 6 bar, the coating is capable of joining a wide variety of materials.
Trüb Emulsions Chemie AG supplies heat seal dispersions for a virtually endless field of application in the packaging industry. For example, the method is used to join polyethylene (PET) with aluminum foil (e.g. for the medical “blister packs” used to package tablets), aluminum foil with polystyrene tubs (e.g. for yoghurt products), aluminum foil with aluminum trays (e.g. for animal food) and films with films (e.g. chocolate bar packaging). Several of the dispersions already have been in successful use in the market for 30 years, but still find new applications today, which we gladly help our customers to develop. For customers in industries such as textiles and film manufacturing, our portfolio naturally includes purely technical heat seal dispersions, which also are under constant advancement.
All products are water-based and contain neither organic solvents or VOCs. In this segment, as in others, we likewise have all the required approvals in accordance with the relevant regulations.
